Roseanne

I couldn't find a picture of Booker so this is just one of my favorite shots of George. It's from a Vanity Fair article from a couple of years ago. If anyone has a picture of Booker I would love to have one! :)

Character: Booker Brooks

Occupation: manager of the plastics plant where Roseanne worked

Time on the show: 1988-1989

Introduction: He played Roseanne's boss and later he became the boyfriend of her sister, Jackie.

Background: I don't know if we ever really learned much about Booker. The only thing I really remember is his relationship with Jackie and that he had a few scenes as boss where he did some unpopular things but I guess that's part of being boss.

Favorite Moments: My favorite was probably when he lied to Jackie to get out of a date. He told her he had to cancel because his mother was in town. It turned out that he actually had a date with another woman. Little did he know that Jackie was going to be at the very same bar he ended up taking his date to. When she confronted him he told her, "She's just a friend." Jackie replied, "Of your mother's?" The look on Booker's face was pretty hilarious.

How it all ended: It's pretty well known that Roseanne's first season was a bumpy one. She ended up firing a lot of people at the end of it. However, George wasn't one of those. He left on his own. I'm not quite sure why. It's probably better though because I never thought they did as much with him as they should have. It basically came down to the fact that he was a member of the supporting cast and I like it much better when he gets a major part. :)
